FanDuel Predicts review

FanDuel Predicts is the sportsbook's answer to Kalshi: a standalone app, launched December 2025, where the contracts are listed on CME Group exchanges and your account sits with FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC, a registered futures broker. Finance, economics, crypto and culture markets run nationwide; sports contracts appear only in states where FanDuel's sportsbook can't operate, which is the entire commercial point. The fee is 2% of potential payout, the age is 18, and existing FanDuel customers skip re-verification.

How it's built

Unlike Kalshi or Novig, FanDuel didn't register its own exchange. It became a futures commission merchant (FCM) and connected to CME, the world's largest derivatives exchange, which lists the event contracts. The practical effects: CME's rulebook settles disputes, liquidity on some markets comes from CME's institutional participants, and FanDuel's own exposure to state lawsuits is different from Kalshi's because the instrument is listed on an exchange no state is going to try to shut.

Markets

  • Everywhere: financials (index levels, rates), economics (CPI, jobs), crypto prices, culture.
  • Sports, select states only: game lines, totals, props and combos, in states without legal online sports betting: California, Texas, Georgia, Florida and similar. Where FanDuel Sportsbook already operates, the app generally doesn't offer sports.

FanDuel has also linked up with Crypto.com and OG for combo products.

Fees, worked

2% of potential payout means 2¢ per contract whatever the price, since every contract pays $1.

50¢2¢4%1.75¢
20¢2¢10%1.12¢

A flat fee is simple and competitive on favourites; it's punishing on longshots, where 2¢ on a 20¢ contract is a tenth of your stake. If you like buying cheap contracts, this isn't the venue.

Money and account

Fund by debit card, Apple Pay or online banking. FanDuel brings sportsbook-grade consumer tools: deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion. The welcome offer has been $100 in bonus for trading $1 on five consecutive days; the bonus is non-withdrawable and expires 24 hours after it lands, so it's a nudge, not a bankroll.

Who it's for

Someone in California, Texas, Georgia or Florida who wants to trade on games with a familiar sportsbook-quality app and doesn't care about longshots. Kalshi offers the same states with a lower fee curve and more categories; FanDuel Predicts offers polish and the CME name. For finance and economics markets anywhere, it's a credible alternative to Kalshi.

Structure, fee and availability per FanDuel's disclosures as summarised by VegasInsider and Legal Sports Report (October 2026).

Questions people ask

Why does FanDuel have a prediction market if it has a sportsbook?

Because event contracts fall under federal commodities law and can be offered in states that haven't legalised sports betting, at age 18. FanDuel Predicts is built for those states; where FanDuel Sportsbook is legal, the Predicts app typically doesn't show sports.

Who actually runs the exchange?

CME Group lists the contracts; FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC is the futures commission merchant that holds your account. Think of it as a broker on a very large exchange rather than an exchange itself.

What does FanDuel Predicts charge?

2% of the potential payout, i.e. 2¢ for every $1 a contract could pay. That's a flat charge regardless of price, which makes it relatively expensive on longshots and cheap on favourites compared with Kalshi's curve.

Can I use my FanDuel Sportsbook login?

Existing FanDuel customers can reuse their identity verification, but it's a separate app and account.
